Valentines Weekend
I got to spend Valentines weekend at my Grandma and Grandpa Hale's house. Its always a lot of fun to visit them. We had a Valentines day full of food, fun, family, games, and more food. From the blog you would think that all we do is eat. The truth is we do have pretty extravagant meals, but it is a Hale family tradition to pull out the camera right when everyone sits down to eat. I'm not sure why but it seems like it has always been that way. We played a lot of games which is also another fun tradition. Grandma is so funny when she plays games. I guess you just have to play a game with her to understand why.

For our Valentine dinner we had fondue. It was so good. you cannot expect anything less than the best when you are at grandma's. We had Kathy, David, Me, Grandma, Grandpa and 2 of my cousins Marley and Ryan there.
Ryan, David and Me.
We had a a good majority of the cousins around our age at grandma and grandpas for Sunday dinner.
I have some awesome grandparents, actually probably the coolest old people you will ever meet. On both sides of the family really. Here my Grandpa Hale is rockin out on guitar hero. I have a video of it, and he plays and dances. I love it.
We had the opportunity to go to the Draper,Utah temple open house.
Grandpa, Me, Kathy, and Ryan after the tour.
My newest nephew. Johnathan Richard Hale. I love being an aunt. He was born on February 12, 2009. On my sister Julia's birthday. Crazy to think that this time last year I only had 2 nieces, now I have 6 nieces and nephews. I can't help but think that they are going to have so much fun together when they are older, especially since I was able to spend time with most of my cousins my age this weekend.

Pond Skimming
It is a BYU-Idaho Spirit week tradition to do pond skimming during the winter semester. For those of you who do not know what that is, people ski/snowboard/sled down a steep hill into a body of water in hopes that they will make it all the way across before falling into the water. A lot of people just to it to get the T-shirt, which would probably be the only reason I would do it but it's not worth it to me. Part of it is people dress up in costumes. So, really its an effort to make yourself look even crazier than you would have before just falling into water when it is below freezing. All this being said, it is so much fun to watch. Some of the costumes I saw were Pippy long stocking, a purple skittle, Steve Irwin, a cow boy, a fisherman, someone who went upside down and lots of other ones that I cannot think of at the moment.

Devotional January 27, 2009
Today we had the privilege of having Elder D. Todd Christofferson speak to us for devotional this week. It is normally not a problem as to having too many people in the main auditorium for devotional because they broadcast it all over campus, but since it was one of the apostles you had to sign up in order to be randomly selected to be able to go into the main meeting hall. I was lucky enough to be selected. The seats were assigned and when I got my ticket I was slightly dissapointed, because I thought I would be sitting in section F at the back of the auditorium. To my surprise when I go there I found out that I was actually front and center, on the main floor 4 rows back. Elder Christofferson spoke about remembering Christ in all things. I left the meeting with a renewed desire to put the Lord as the central focus in my life.

Fun Fun Fun
(Sorry the picture are so small, I got them from my roommate and I don't know how to fix it.)
There was something missing from the decoration in our apartment and we finally figured out what was missing.
Friday night we had a late night party. Yes, those are footie pajamas.

After staying up late on Friday night I woke up Saturday morning to go watch Kathy and all of her roommates in a mini triathlon. I probably would have signed up for it but all the spots were full before I even heard about it. My intention was to work out after I watched. Kathy's old roommate Nicole and her husband Trevor were in charge ( Nicole was in my triathlon team last summer) Trevor saw me and asked me why I didn't do it and I told him why. He said they had had open spots in all of the heats so far, and that I better do it. I hadn't trained and I didn't have a swim suit or an I-card to get a swim suit. I wasn't going to do it but 15 minutes later I found my self in the swimming pool, having had no training and no breakfast. It was not a very long triathlon a 200M swim, 4 mile bike and 1 mile run. I did pretty well in swimming and biking, but by the time I got to running my lack of preparation caught up to me. It was good though. I finished in 34 minutes. Now I am pumped about doing the next 2 that are coming this semester. There will be one every month all semester each getting longer and since I'm going to train for it now I am confident that I will do better next time.
Saturday night I learned how to play the guitar. I am a fast learner.
It's amazing how good you can be at Dance Dance Revolution when you work as a team. Thats pretty much how life goes though.
Up until this weekend it has been pretty mild here. In the 20's and no snow compared to last winter when it snowed like a foot a day and was -30 for 3 weeks straight. It has been quite pleasant. You better believe that didn't last. This is what I looked like after walking home from church and this was after I had a few moments to defrost.
I actually fell for my first time ever since having been up here. I knew it would come someday and I have to say it could not have been more comical. I just so happened to be with Kathy who would give me the hardest time about it (mostly cause she knows that never happens and I always tease her because she falls at least once every other day). We were on a cross walk and 3 or 4 cars were approaching, right in the middle of the road I just slipped right on my rear. Even better I was wearing a skirt. Most of the people in the cars tried to hide that they were laughing until they passed (that was sweet haha). Really it was just funny.

1st Utah Trip Winter '09
Since there was a three day weekend, three of my roommates and Me loaded up and went to Utah for the weekend.
We were able to spend a little bit of time with each of our families, which made it a lot of fun. On Sunday we were in Salt Lake with David. We took the time to go to temple square and get some pictures. I really like this one.

On a more serious note.
This one is one of my very favorite pictures for the time being. David and I, we have a lot fun when we are together. As you can tell.
In case you didn't notice these are better pictures of my tie skirt. I will probably put up more pictures from this trip so be aware of that. This was just a quick post
On a more serious note.

Back to School!
It's so good to be back!! My classes are going to be great, I have some really great professors. I am taking a lot more credits this semester than I did last year. So, it's going to be a lot more demanding, but nothing I can't handle (I think). I have great roommates! They are just some great girls and fun to be around. I cannot wait to see what kind adventures this year has in store for me.
